Welcome & Our Objectives
Welcome to the ACT Economic Society of Australia
ESA ACT is one of the larger branches of the Economic Society, boasting a membership of 300+ members across a variety of sectors including the public service, academe, private and NGOs. Anyone interested in contemporary economic issues and debates is invited to join the ACT Economic Society of Australia. No special qualifications are required for membership, simply an interest in economic issues! Student members are eligible for discounted membership rates.
About ESA ACT Branch
ESA ACT has an active events program, and Members enjoy up to eight free seminars each year. ACT events are catered for, and always present useful networking opportunities for members.
Governance
A Council is elected each year to provide voluntary administration and organisation of the Society. The Council organises functions, engages with students, represents the organisation at conferences and meetings, and advises on the strategic direction of the organisation.
The Society's Awards
The Economic Society of Australia offers four awards at the national level; these are the Distinguished Fellow Award, The Honorary Fellow Award, the Young Economist Award, and commencing in 2014 the Distinguished Public Policy Fellow Award
History of ESA
At over 100 years old, ESA is one of the oldest non-profit organisations in Australia.
