Challenges in understanding the role of Science in the Economy

David Pearce is the Executive Director of The Centre for International Economics (The CIE). David has over 30 years of experience in applying economics to a wide range of issues for clients in Australia, Vietnam, China, India, Laos, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. David has developed a variety of quantitative analytical techniques including economy wide and simulation modelling to assist clients in solving difficult economic problems related to international trade, climate change, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, tourism, education and transport.

In particular, David is interested in R&D evaluation – quantitative empirical analysis of R&D outcomes, both in Australia and overseas.

Time: Arrive at 12:30 for lunch, presentation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
