ESA (ACT) First Friday Economics
Speaker: Shane Garrett, Chief Economist Master Builders Australia

"Building economics into construction”

The Research School of Economics at the ANU and the ACT Branch of the Economic Society of Australia wish to invite you to the June edition of First Friday Economics (FFE). FFE is an exciting initiative aimed at enriching the professional and social lives of Canberra economists. We aim to provide a congenial setting, on the first Friday of every month, to allow the interaction of mainly young Canberra economists, with a major Canberra economist invited to give a short address.

Shane Garrett is Chief Economist of Master Builders Australia. In his talk, he will outline how economic tools can be used to analyse supply and demand in one of Australia’s largest industries. This will include developments in the industry since the start of the pandemic and some of the issues which have confronted the industry. Shane will be more than happy to answer any questions at the event.

Note: In 2021 we have changed the event location to a bigger room in an adjacent building.

Food and drinks compliant with ANU COVID policies will be provided.
