The Economic Society (ACT) would like to invite you to join us for the Annual Dinner at the National Press Club.
Our guest speaker is Jim Chalmers, Shadow Treasurer. Jim was appointed Shadow Treasurer after the 2019 election.
After many months of limited face-to-face contact with fellow economists, we hope you’ll join us to hear from Jim Chalmers and enjoy a two course dinner with the ESA (ACT) Board and Members at the famous National Press Club of Australia.
Two course meal and drinks included.

Jim Chalmers is the Member for Rankin, where he represents the people of southern Brisbane and Logan City. Jim has been Shadow Treasurer since 2019. Prior to that he held a number of posts in the Shadow Cabinet, including Shadow Minister for Finance. Before Jim’s election to Parliament, he was the Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre. He has a PhD in political science and international relations. Jim’s most recent book, Changing Jobs: the Fair Go in the New Machine Age, is co-authored with Mike Quigley and was published in 2017. His earlier book about the Global Financial Crisis, Glory Daze, was released in July 2013. |
