Dr. Bjorn Lomborg is talking about his new book, Best Things First, which the Economist named one of the best books of 2023. The book and project, funded by the Gates Foundation, uses cost-benefit analysis to highlight the 12 best things to do to make the world better for the world's poorer half (low- and lower-middle-income countries). It finds that spending $35bn/year smartly can deliver benefits 52x as high, saving 4.2 million lives and generating $1.1 trillion in additional income — each and every year.
It’s finding have been peer-reviewed and published in Journal of Benefit Cost Analysis (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-benefit-cost-analysis/firstview).
