DESCRIPTION:Where to now?
The Economic Society of Australia and Women in Economics Network ACT invite you to a presentation on the economic outlook. The global economy has recovered\; and Australia has participated. But this upswing is unlike any other. Wage growth and business investment remain sub-par. The US yield curve has already flattened and household saving rates are low. Credit growth has been constrained by more appropriate regulatory architecture\, while unsettling politics persist and technology reshapes work and play. Richard and Cherelle will discuss which of these influences is temporary and which permanent\, and how we expect the upswing to evolve.




Cherelle is a member of ANZ&rsquo\;s Research team. She analyses and forecasts the Australian economy and provides regular updates and insights on topics that are front of mind for ANZ&rsquo\;s clients. Cherelle has a special interest in fiscal policy and policy issues affecting the domestic outlook. Cherelle publishes regularly and presents to domestic and international clients and stakeholders. She also provides media commentary on key local economic issues.

Richard Yetsenga is Chief Economist and Head of Research at ANZ. In this role\, he leads the Bank's economic and markets research efforts\, with a focus on Australia\, New Zealand and Asia.&nbsp\; With more than 20 years of experience in Asian financial services\, Richard joined ANZ in 2011 from HSBC in Hong Kong\, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Emerging Market FX Strategy. Prior to his seven years at HSBC\, Richard held economics and markets strategy roles with Deutsche Bank and the Australian Government.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;




WEN&nbsp\;has been formed to promote and support the career development of women in the economics profession in Australia.
