Nicki Hutley, Urbis
Nicki Hutley, Director and Chief Economist at Urbis
Nicki is a highly experienced economist, with more years than she cares to admit to in economic, financial market and public policy experience. Prior to joining Urbis in 2013, Nicki held senior positions with Access Economics and then KPMG. Throughout her career, Nicki has led large and complex economic modelling projects and policy reviews for local, state and federal governments as well as private and third sector clients. Nicki has applied Cost Benefit Analysis to a wide range of issues including:
- social policies (such as child restoration and domestic violence initiatives, utilising a Social Return on Investment approach)
- environment policies (which led to a change in Suncorp’s pricing for cyclone insurance)
- infrastructure investments, including roads, bike paths, sporting arenas and an equestrian centre.
As a macroeconomist, Nicki also maintains forecasts for key economic variables and she is a regular commentator in the media on macro and policy issues.
